Our story
A house of ethnic wear that still buys cloth by the than, dyes in short runs, and cuts in Surat so the clothes arrive as the loom intended.
Why we exist
Vastrarupa began because too many “handloom” kurtas were mill cloth with a printed motif. We work with weaving families in Chanderi, block printers in Bagru and embroiderers in Lucknow, then pattern and stitch in Surat so fit and finish sit in one room.
The clothes are meant to be lived in — office mornings, family lunches, the odd festive evening — not stored for a photograph.
How we work
Small batches, honest pricing, and a seven-day return on unworn pieces. When a colourway sells out we wait for the next than rather than substituting a lookalike.
